As we discussed in our previous article that stable global Build of MIUI 7 will start rolling out from 27th October, looks like Xiaomi is right on time! Yes, MIUI 7 is rolling out now. However, the update has currently been received by Mi 4 users so far. Mi 4 is Xiaomi’s current flagship and is one of the first devices in the list of smartphones from Xiaomi to get MIUI 7.

MIUI 7 is available now

For Mi 4, the file size of the update is 666 MB and comes with build number KXDMICI (Indian variant). We are pretty sure that Mi 4 users will be highly disappointed after reading the next sentence. The device, however, lacked behind in Android version with 4.4.4 (KitKat). While it was expected that MIUI 7 will be based on Lollipop.

MIUI 7 Details

In any way, MIUI 7 is still far better than MIUI 6. According to Xiaomi, MIUI 7 will add many system optimizations that will increase speed by 30% and battery performance by 10% and other fixes for WiFi related issues. As they state, MIUI 7 will bring along the following new features and improvements:

  • Better battery
  • Better RAM management
  • Improved and tweaked UI
  • Better notifications
  • Improved WiFi connectivity
  • New themes and wallpapers
  • Ability to adjust text sizes
  • Child Mode
  • Show Time
  • and much more…

Though, MIUI 7 will bring Lollipop to some devices while others will remain on KitKat, as already reported earlier which must be hugely disappointing for the owners of Xiaomi’s current flagship.

Just to quickly remind all the Xiaomi phone users that company has already released a list of devices to get MIUI 7. At this time of MIUI 7 introduction, the list is a bit small but there are chances that maybe other devices will be added to the list at a later date according to the company. According to Xiaomi, the following international devices will get (or getting) MIUI 7 via OTA:

  • Mi 4
  • Mi 3
  • Redmi 2
  • Redmi 1S
  • Redmi Note 4G
  • Mi Pad tablet.

In China, the following devices will get the MIUI 7 update:
