LG has now opened up the pre-registrations of its flagship device G6 in India after starting its global rollout earlier this month. While the India launch date for the device has still not been announced yet by the company, users can go to its Indian website and express their interest for the phone.
The G6 strays away from the modular design of LG’s 2016 beast G5 and brings an all-new unibody metal design. G6 is LG’s first flagship to be IP68 certified, which means it is dust and water resistant, just like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
However, the main feature remains the new 5.7-inch univisium display, which has a revolutionary 2:1 aspect ratio with a 2880 x 1440p resolution. In addition, the display supports standards like Dolby Vision and HDR 10.
LG has chosen Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC to power G6 instead of latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. Well, it’s business. This device is coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The LG G6 was launched in two storage variants: 32GB and 64GB. The storage on the LG G6 is expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB) which is a great treat by LG.
The LG G6 has a dual camera setup featuring two 13MP rear cameras with different specifications. One sensor has a f/1.8 aperture, 3-axis OIS, and phase detection autofocus. The other sensor has a f/2.4 aperture and no autofocus, but a 125 degree field of view. At the front, the phone sports a 5MP camera with f/2.2 aperture with 100 degree field of view.
The LG G6 houses a non-removable 3300mAh battery which is an exception as company’s earlier devices usually featured removable batteries. It measures 148.9×71.9×7.9mm and weighs in at 163 grams. LG G6 supports LTE-A 3 Band CA network and in terms of connectivity options, it includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0 connectivity options. It will be available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Mystic White color options.
