Samsung is rolling out a new monthly security patch for the Galaxy J7 (2016) in India. It’s a minor update that weighs in at just under 26MB.
This April security patch features fixes 49 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) in the Android OS as well as fixes 16 Vulnerabilities in Samsung’s own software. The patch brings a fix for a bug that could have allowed hackers to access user’s crash log files.
Most of the patches that have been disclosed in the security patch are listed as “privately disclosed” to prevent hackers from exploiting them in the time it takes for the firmware to be properly distributed to all users.
Firmware version J710FXXU3AQD4 is now being rolled out for the Galaxy J7 (2016) in India. Those who haven’t received an over-the-air update notification already should expect it to pop-up on their device very soon.
